Lea Michele in Atelier Versace Fall 2010: Well, well, well, look at little Lea Michele! Vamping it up in Atelier Versace. that's the Haute Couture line of Donatella's, in case you didn't know--in other words--one-of-a-kind and costing $100,000+ for gowns (if you wanted to order and buy).

It's A LOT of gown--for Lea--this one-shouldered pale blueish silver, micro-gathered bustier gown with very high side slit and lots of train. At first glance, I thought "She looks like a 'Miss Universe' contestant, during the Evening Gown Preliminaries..." I'm not so sure if this was the right gown for her. What do my very informed readers here on my BLOG think? Please, don't be shy to leave me your thoughts! I ALWAYS read them!

18th Annual SAG Awards: Who Wore What? Sofia Vergara in Marchesa

Sofia Vergara in Marchesa: Miss Sofia stepped onto the 2012 SAG Awards red carpet tonight in a strapless bubblegum pink gown from red carpet-favorite Marchesa. It looks as if it is "inspired" by Marchesa Resort 2012 and possibly this gown:

It has a similar jutting pleated drape upper torso design (although in the sample above it's more like a bow shape and also includes peplum-like detail--also missing from Sofia's) but the shape is similar as well as the silk crepe skirt section. Now...did I like it? Not so sure--ladies with ample cleavage and bust (like Miss Sofia) are not usually the type of girls who should wear this kind of bust-enhancing gown.

And the jutting-out design is a bit "tricky" for me. I guess she doesn't need a handbag with all that extra storage area!!! What do you guys think? Likey? Or No Likey?

People's Choice Awards 2012: Who Wore What? Miley Cyrus in David Koma Spring 2012

Miley Cyrus in David Koma Spring 2012: Designer David Koma is relatively new to "the scene" (his website is still "under construction"), yet he has recently been making a sartorial splash with his futuristic fitted-to-an-inch-of-their-lives looks. This dress on Miley is from his most recent collection which was based "minimalist sci-fi tribal". I think it is the best she has ever looked on the Red Carpet. The look on her is modern, up-to-the-minute, and showing women all over a new take on cocktail dressing.

Love the hair swept to one side as well as the accessories. I also appreciate the original multicolored glass details in the dress as seen in the close-up photo above. Good job Miss Miley!

People's Choice Awards 2012: Who Wore What? Ginnifer Goodwin in Roksanda Ilincic Spring 2012

Ginnifer Goodwin in Roksanda Ilincic Spring 2012: Well, if the 2011 People's Choice Awards red carpet is any indication, I may believe the upcoming 2012 Awards Season Red Carpet, might be an "all over the place" free-for-all.

As you've seen in my previous mini-postings--we had Vanessa Hudgens in a full-on sequined gown from Jenny Pachkam, Jennifer Lawrence in a royal blue/violet swirly applique-and-mesh Viktor & Rolf cocktail dress and now, it's Ginnifer Goodwin in a bubblegum gum pink below-the-knee length dress. The dress is by Roksanda Ilincic, the London-based designer made famous by Kate the Duchess of Cambridge. Ilincic must have gotten a very nice pr agency here in LA, because her dresses have been making the red carpet rounds more and more in the last few months and recently Rooney Mara also wore on of her designs.

This dress on Ginnifer is very Ladies Who Lunch...but with a "Twist". A very Retro Bell-Sleeved Twist! It's "Mad Men" meets "Pan Am" meets some crown princess from (name any European country). I could TOTALLY see someone like Barbara Walters in this, but Ginnifer? Not so sure. I LOVE the color and give her (and her stylist) points for going in a different direction. What do you guys think?

Demi Lovato in Marchesa Resort 2012: Three words--You Go Girl! LOVE this peach silk chiffon draped gown with gold torso detail on Demi. The gown is from Marchesa--which you know is co-designed by Harvey Weinstein's main squeeze--and Project Runway All Stars Judge Georgina Chapman, as well as Keren Craig. The color is fantastic on her skin and the whole "Spartan/Grecian Goddess" vibe works. And--lest I forget--her SISTAHS look fabuloso! A bit too dressed up for the People's Choice Awards? Maybe. But on today's Red Carpet almost ANYTHING goes!

People's Choice Awards 2012: Who Wore What? Jennifer Lawrence in Viktor and Rolf Spring 2012

Jennifer Lawrence in Viktor and Rolf Spring 2012: First off, I am a big fan of Dutch designer duo Viktor & Rolf. And secondly, I always love seeing a dress on an actress that well, I would not normally instantly think "Oh THAT has got to be worn on the Red Carpet!" And here's an example--on actress Jennifer Lawrence at tonight's "People's Choice Awards".

It's a royal blue duchess satin cut-out applique a-line shaped cocktail dress with black fishnet netting and nude lining underneath. It's very "Artsy" in its design and one might argue the decision to wear a dress that prominently features your "sisters" via mesh netting...other than that---this might work if you're hosting China Chow hosting Bravo's "Work of Art" reality show...or a red carpet premiere in Croatia. But at the People's Choice Awards? Uhhh, maybe not. What do you think?

Vanessa Hudgens in Jenny Packham Fall 2011: Oh Lordy! These girls are GIVING it to you!! Even at the "People's Choice Awards". It's not even the "Golden Globes" yet (this Sunday!) and it's all out and out sequined gowns!! Here we have Vanessa Hudgens serving GLAMOUR in this black beaded gown featuring a "spider web"-like sequin detail, front slit and fishtail train/hem.

She looks good--both sexy, a little bit "Old Hollywood", and Vampy "Miss Puerto Rico"...all in one. I am definitely getting tire of the Ultra Stacked Pump (as I stated here). I think a sexy strappy heel would have worked much better. What do y'all think?
